Public School Support
Rural public schools in Ghana do not have any reading books.
So, we have partnered with a US NGO who writes culturally appropriate books, which we have in our Senchi Ferry Community Learning Center.
Each day, all local public schools have what they call “Library Hour”.
That is when our Ghana Scholarship Fund staff visits the local public schools.
They bring with them our culturally appropriate books for the students to read.
We have learned that doing so has greatly enhanced the student’s interest in reading as well as their reading ability.
